New Google Adwords feature: Keywords + Placements

Categories - advertising, adwords, online marketing

There’ve been a few changes over at Google Adwords recently, including the new Keywords + Placements feature. Essentially Adwords now allows advertisers to include both keywords and placements in the same campaign, rather than separately, as before.

Scott Clark has a great summary of the recent Google Adwords changes and is the perfect place to get up to speed while Darin.cc comments in particular on Google’s new policy to show actual data. Ian Fernando digs deeper by showing how to mashup Adwords and MSN to see what keywords are popular among both networks and the total search volume over all. It’s an informative piece with good visuals and a great step by step video tutorial.

The Google changes are a nice step forward. The more data a marketer has to work with, the more empowered we are to do what we do. It’s a good start, but there are plenty more of those fences to be broken down. You know who you are … show us the data!
